I worked in pet rescue at The Humane Society of Ventura County There i was responsible for educating potential adopters on the behavior and personalities of the pets they were interested in. They have a good volunteer education program that is increasing in size. If you do not have a pet and are thinking of getting one please visit their website along with many others and there you will get an idea of how the adoption process works in different locations and shelter types. Having a pet is a great responsibility, not to be taken lightly.
